Our company has newly set up an ice machine production line. During pressure testing, an air compressor is used to apply pressure, and a washing powder solution is used to test each flange connection. Small bubbles always appear at the flange connections. Asbestos gaskets are used for these connections. I have checked carefully and the installation is correct; perhaps there is something wrong with the method of pressure testing. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me the reason
There’s no issue with the pressure testing method. You say that the installation is fine; or maybe it’s necessary to disassemble it and replace the gaskets. I think it’s still an installation problem. If that doesn’t work, check whether there are any quality issues with the flanges – they have holes
Asbestos gaskets should have been phased out long ago – why is someone still using them in cooling systems?! Agree with the person above; replace the gaskets first and then conduct a leak test. However, don’t forget to check for leaks at the welds and joints during the test.
1. Asbestos gaskets should not be used; the gaskets provided on the third floor can be used instead. 2. Check whether there are any issues with the flange sealing surface. 3. 704 can be considered for coating on the gasket
If bubbles appear, there is definitely a leak; replace the gasket, and make sure to maintain a uniform tightening torque on the flange bolts

Leaks can also occur within the asbestos itself.
I think it’s a gasket issue; the gasket should be replaced, such as PTFE
Asbestos gaskets have problems and cannot be used in refrigeration equipment
