Has anyone on the forum used a centrifuge with a sprayed Halar or other anti-corrosion lining? What are its operating conditions, in what type of centrifuge is it used, and what is its performance? This post was last edited by Tonyli on 2007-12-18 17:24]
Centrifuges are generally lined with PE or PP; gap-type centrifuges also exist, such as those of models PS, SD, XR, etc
It works well; generally, three-legged centrifuges, flat plates, hanging bags, or bottom discharge methods can all be used
Halar acts as a coating for polytetrafluoroethylene, giving it fairly strong corrosion resistance
The last edit to this post was made by Gao Tianyi on 2009-6-22 at 23:15. The inside of the centrifuge cylinder can be lined with PE, PO, or rubber; I have not yet used Halar for lining. I inquired about its price, and it is quite expensive. Moreover, the coating layer formed using Halar is quite thin compared to those made from the other materials mentioned
The surface of centrifuges made of Halar material is smoother, more wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and resistant to organic solvents, making it easier to meet GMP standards.
