What are the requirements for the degree of fuel combustion atomization?
In our company’s superheater fuel pipeline, the fuel enters the burner in four separate streams (i.e., four nozzles). There is a valve on the main pipe; I think it would be more convenient to add valves to the branch pipes as well. What do you all think?
It is mainly an index of mist uniformity. I’m currently out of town; I’ll give a detailed answer once I return.
Fine atomization with uniform particle size ensures complete and rapid combustion, making it suitable for many combustion applications. However, in some heating furnaces a relatively larger flame is required (for example, some glass tank furnaces rely on the high radiation of fuel flames for heating), in which case the atomization cannot be too fine. Appropriate atomization is merely one of the necessary conditions to ensure proper combustion of the fuel; the approach must be tailored to each specific situation.
I observed the color of the flame; a white color indicates a higher risk of spark formation, and excessive misting of steam also occurs; If it turns yellow or even dark yellow, it means the atomization is insufficient; increasing the valve opening degree will help. Before being led to the furnace, instruments are generally used to set the pressure ratio between the two (some also establish interlock relationships). If each burner in front of the furnace is controlled by its own valve, it is possible to adjust it so that the fuel oil burns more completely.
