While dechlorinating, a certain amount of alkali must also be added to neutralize HCl, which in turn helps to protect the catalyst

What type of hydrogenation unit does the poster have? Hydrocracking, refining? What is used as the raw material? Where does chloride corrosion occur? It’s unlikely to be a hydrogenation reactor; it’s probably corrosion in the overhead stream system of the subsequent distillation column. Please provide more details so that a targeted analysis and solution can be developed
Identify the source of chloride ions: crude oil, injection water, hydrogen. If it is due to a partial issue, then only by addressing the above factors can it be resolved. If it is the subsequent distillation section, this can be addressed by tackling the above factors and improving the material of the equipment
The unit is a lubricating oil hydrogenation unit (hydrofining); chlorine mainly comes from the feed oil. After the hydrogenation reaction, chloride ions cause corrosion to the pipelines and equipment at the rear of the reactor. I heard of a method involving adding dechlorination tanks at the rear of the reactor to absorb chlorine from the oil. I wonder if any of my friends have information on this topic, or if there are any other better solutions. Thank you all for your concern
