The distillation column is a key device in tar distillation, and its continuous, safe, and stable operation is a crucial factor in ensuring the proper functioning of tar distillation. Domestically, conventional tar distillation columns are mostly bubble plate columns or floating valve plate columns, typically equipped with 40 to 60 trays. They use gas-phase feeding and lack stripping sections, resulting in poor distillation separation efficiency. The IRH process enables the thorough separation of heavy components such as asphalt during the initial distillation stage, allowing the use of corrugated plate-packed fractionation columns. This not only results in high separation efficiency but also allows for large processing capacities; a fractionation column with a processing capacity of 300,000 tons per year can have a diameter of just 2 meters. It can **save on equipment investment and energy consumption, and it is also a sign of advanced manufacturing processes.**
Our company’s 300,000-ton per unit tar processing tower is a 24-stage floating valve tower; the upper half of the tower has a diameter of 1650 mm and is made of 304 material, while the lower half has a diameter of 2050 mm and is made of 316L material, resulting in an excellent separation efficiency.
