Help: I need to use weak sulfuric acid here, with a pH value between 2 and 3. What metal material would be suitable for the pipes?
316L is better, it’s just a bit more expensive
Is a metal material necessary? Non-metals such as FRPP, FRP, composite pipes, and lined pipes can also be used, provided that the temperature is not high.

Weak sulfuric acid, with a pH value between 2 and 3; if the temperature is high (>100), metal pipes should still be used, but 316L is not necessary – 304 will suffice. Sulfuric acid is not hydrochloric acid! :)
Thank you all. We chose 316L pipes, with a temperature of around 90 degrees. We were worried that they might not work, but it seems they should be fine
Our company’s sulfuric acid concentration is around 5%, and the temperature is 80 degrees; 316L material fails after just over a year under such conditions. I’m curious about the concentration of sulfuric acid in your case
For resistance to weak acids, 316L should be used; if corrosion occurs, it may be due to the presence of other impurities
Our company uses stainless steel pipes with an outer diameter of 159; they won’t break down for many years, so they’re reliable to use. The material is 1 chromium, 18 nickel, and 9 titanium
At this temperature, it’s no problem to use PP eardrums; our company uses them
Do we have to use metal? Over time, nothing is immune to corrosion; FRPP and FRP are still the better choices
The 6MO alloy should work in this environment. If a metal material is required, some hanging specimen tests can be conducted.
