The main methods include: sedimentation desalination and dewatering, heating desalination and dewatering, demulsification desalination and dewatering, and high-voltage electric field desalination and dewatering.
When the properties of the crude oil are poor and it is not possible to change the properties of either the crude oil or the demulsifier, the normal diesel fraction can be fed into the electrodesalination tank and then into the distillation tower, where it is used as an off-tower circulation. This approach helps to reduce viscosity and density, thereby increasing the density difference between water and oil and achieving optimal desalination results.
