Recently, in a design project, I encountered a single-tank vessel; the material used for this vessel is 16MnR, the design pressure is 1.1 MPa (G), the design temperature is 60°C, and a corrosion allowance of 3 mm is required. The external dimensions of the vessel are 6500 mm X 13600 mm, with the two end caps being of the 2:1 standard type. I wonder if there are difficulties in manufacturing such a large device.
Is it a diameter of DN6500? There will be no problems with manufacturing! There are existing similar engineering examples. For manufacturing, I don’t think there’s much difference between vertical and horizontal types; design is actually the key factor!

For manufacturing plants that have a certain scale and the necessary qualifications, such equipment is extremely easy to handle; the only thing to worry about is the shipping of the equipment.

Purchasing the end caps and transporting the entire equipment should be somewhat challenging. Which factory can manufacture elliptical end caps with dimensions of 6.5m x ~30mm? It might not be easy.
Why was such a large horizontal tank chosen, and what is its economic efficiency?
Since the pressure of the storage medium at room temperature is around 5–6 kgf/cm2, and a certain storage period is required, such large-sized equipment is necessary.
~Our company can handle diameters of up to 4200 at most; your 6500 is really large – we need to consider transportation or the need for on-site fabrication, and heat treatment would also need to be taken into account if required.
Manufacturing is no problem; the main issue is transportation.
