Is the opening size of the measuring instrument on the equipment the same as the flange (thread) size specified in the instrument’s specifications?
For instruments installed directly on the equipment, the opening size corresponds to the flange size specified in the technical data sheet; however, in the case of threaded connections, the flange size has no relation to the thread size! In other words, as long as the thread size is less than or equal to the flange diameter, that is, the opening size on the equipment as you mentioned.

There are two ways in which instruments can be installed on equipment: 1. Directly connected to the equipment port, in which case the specifications of the equipment port must correspond to those of the process interface specified in the instrument’s technical data sheet. 2. The instrument is connected to a reducer, which is then connected to the equipment port; in this case, the specifications of the equipment port do not match those of the process interface listed in the instrument’s technical data sheet. In practice, it depends on which method is chosen, and generally, there is a clear specification for this in the P&ID.
So how is the opening size of the gauge on the device determined? Please explain it for different instruments. Thank you!
