Types of solenoid valves Solenoid valves are mainly divided into functions: Two-way valve, three-way valve, four-way valve (five-way valve is also included in the four-way valve). The two-way valve has an inlet and an outlet and is used to control the flow of fluid. The three-way valve has three ports connected to the pipeline and two holes (one is open, the other is closed, and vice versa). It is generally used to alternately apply pressure or relieve pressure to a diaphragm valve or one-way cylinder. Three-way valve has three operating modes: Normally open, normally closed, general purpose. Four (five) way valves are generally used to operate double-acting cylinders. Available with four or five pipe connections: One pressure port, two cylinder ports and one or two exhaust ports.
