As the title says. Currently, there are several bellows in the workshop that have suffered significant deformation due to the lack of support for the pipes they connect to; upon checking the drawings, it was found that no support was provided in the design. May I ask if the pipes at both ends of a bellows generally need to be supported? Thank you!
Supports should be installed at both ends of the pipes connected to the bellows to prevent deformation; one end should be provided with a fixed support, which facilitates fixing and support; A movable support should be installed at one end, which facilitates its free expansion as well as providing support.
Whether a support is needed for the bellows depends on the type of bellows expansion joint; for free-type joints, fixed or guiding supports are required, while hinge-type joints do not need supports since angular compensation is necessary for them
Radial restraint must be applied at both ends of the bellows compensator to prevent it from moving radially as the pipeline expands.
They should be present at both ends and in the middle. We design them all this way. Especially when it is filled with a medium, its weight will be much greater than its own weight; a design without any support is quite imprudent.
