I’d like to ask everyone how to calculate the conversion rate of methane. It would be great if you could provide me with a formula along with numerical values. My educational level is quite low; I can only use pre-established formulas, as theoretical concepts confuse me.... Additionally, I’d like to ask experienced synthesis workers: how should the vent gas from methanol synthesis be controlled? Is there any relationship between the amount of this gas and that of the fresh gas?

The issue of conversion rate applies only to the conversion stage in the process of producing methanol from coke oven gas. The same is true for off-gases; there are always off-gases in the synthesis stage, as complete reaction isn’t possible. But what exactly is the amount of off-gases, and what factors determine it? Can it be calculated? Discharging a certain amount is more economical and results in better reactions
