There should be no problem. We used to have an alcohol storage tank, and leaks occurred whenever other gaskets were used at the flange connections; later we switched to polyvinyl chloride gaskets, and since then there have been no issues. Ethanol and methanol have similar properties, so I think there should be no problem. It’s rare to find this information in available sources.

Polyvinyl chloride is soluble in propanone, ***, etc. Methanol cannot dissolve him. So it’s definitely possible.
