The soil quality at the site of our newly built factory building is poor; as it is backfill soil, the excavator has to dig about 5 meters deep before reaching the surface layer. The civil engineering department suggests using piles to address this issue, but the cost of installing piles is said to be quite high, and a large number of piles are required. May I ask the experts, based on their experience, how much does it generally cost to install a pile that is 1 meter long? Are there any other reasonable methods besides driving piles? Thank you!
There are many types of piles: such as gravel piles, powder jetting piles, cement mixing piles, and so on. Upstairs, please clarify what material the piles are made of and their length.
A foundation treatment plan should be devised based on the conditions on site; if the surrounding area is relatively open and construction is not affected, compacted gravel piles or dynamic compaction can be used. Refer to the standards for the Chengdu area. If it is 30 piles, the cost is approximately 190 yuan per meter ; For square piles, the cost is approximately 900 yuan per meter. I’m referring to precast piles here; this includes the costs of the pile materials, machinery, and construction expenses, with the static compression testing cost being separate.

The cost of a precast pipe pile with a length of 1 meter and a diameter of 400 mm is approximately 200 yuan.
Due to rising raw material costs, precast piles are now relatively expensive; a-type piles costing 300 should cost around 160 per meter. AB-type piles are a bit more expensive. It’s necessary to consult the designers to see if precast piles can be used. If not, driven cast-in-place piles will be more costly and the construction period will be longer. You should ask the designers to first specify what type of piles are to be used. As far as I know, spray-fused piles have a relatively low cost and fast construction speed, making them quite suitable at present
It might still be necessary to find someone who understands structural design to do the calculations and determine which type of pile is the best choice. Don’t try to save money – an unstable foundation can lead to safety accidents

I’m facing the same issue with my current project as well; I’ve dug 8 meters deep yet still haven’t reached the solid soil layer. The solution being adopted now is to use bored piles.
