The biogas residue and slurry deposited in a biogas pool ranges from about 4 to 5 cubic meters. According to the usage specifications, in order to ensure normal gas production, an 8-cubic-meter biogas digester should discharge liquid once or twice a month, with about 100 kilograms of liquid discharged each time. The materials should be changed once a year. When changing materials, the amount of liquid and slag removal should be one-half to two-thirds of the total capacity of the biogas digester, that is, at least 4-5 cubic meters should be produced. According to farmers' reports, most of them cannot clean it every month, and the amount of liquid removed once a year reaches 4 cubic meters, and they are even more helpless. It is not easy to manually scoop out so much waste residue and liquid with buckets, and then carry it on the shoulders to remove it. A farmer from Sancha Road Village, Shihua Town, Gucheng County, Xiangfan City, told us that his family hired two laborers to remove biogas slurry and residue, and they worked for two days and spent 200 yuan. Nowadays, most of the young and middle-aged laborers in rural areas have gone out to work, and the "troops" left behind at home are mostly "troops 703861" (70 are old people, 38 are women, and 61 are children). It is not easy for these people to take care of the crops in the fields they are responsible for, and they are even more powerless to clean up the residue and slurry.
