It is not practical to use mechanical sealing for large diameters, and the cost is too high to afford it! Our dryers generally use V-shaped packing.
Use a labyrinth seal, which is low cost and easy to install.

Coupled with other reasons, the circumferential jump of the seal is relatively serious, which brings great difficulty to the seal. Mechanical sealing is difficult and costly, or impossible. In addition to the circular runout of the rotary body, there is also the problem of axial movement. Therefore, a labyrinth seal is generally used here. The grinding disc seal is essentially a labyrinth seal. As long as it is handled well, it can generally meet the requirements. If the requirements are higher, an air seal can also be added.
