In the process of producing the flat filaments for woven bags from polypropylene, one step involves cutting the film sheet with a set of blades and then heating and stretching it using an extension plate. However, filament breakage occurs during this stretching process, especially on the sides, but it also happens in the middle section as well. This is a rather technical issue; it is recommended to visit other manufacturers for inspection. This problem should not be too difficult to resolve.
I’m not quite clear about temperature control and stretching speed control at the moment; I guess it’s a problem with these two aspects
It is possible that: 1. There is an issue with the raw material formula, with too little calcium stearate; 2. The temperature setting for the extension plate is too high, or the temperature indication is incorrect.
First, check the properties of the raw materials: aspects such as tensile strength and elongation to see if there are any issues. Next, check whether there are any issues with the stretching rate and the processing temperature.
It’s probably because the temperature of the heated water isn’t high enough, resulting in an insufficient stretch ratio.
Based on my 3 years of experience in wire drawing, I’ve never heard of calcium stearate before; I’ll give it a try sometime. The situation described by the original poster is quite normal, and I think the main issue lies in the formula.
