The U.S. Department of Energy, the Department of Agriculture, and the National Development and Reform Commission of my country jointly signed a memorandum on cooperative development of biomass energy and biofuels. This is the third memorandum on energy signed by our country and the United States. The first memorandum signed by China and the United States is to cooperate in the development of new energy vehicle technologies (electric energy, hybrid electric energy, fuel cells, and alternative energy sources, etc.). The purpose of the second memorandum is to increase cooperation between the two parties and improve the energy utilization rate of our country's industrial sector. This memorandum of understanding on biofuels describes the cooperation plans between the two countries in biomass energy, raw material production, technology and engineering exchanges, biological product development and use standards, rural and agricultural development policies, etc. The memorandum also summarizes the common goals of the two countries' annual work: Establish a set of methods and index systems for estimating biomass energy resources and environments in the two countries, and establish common estimation standards. ; Strengthen the exchange of scientific and technological information on the production of biomass energy raw materials ; Provide policy support for agricultural development of biomass energy raw materials ; Exchange of rural development technology information on biofuel development in both countries ; Establish a dialogue between the two sides on biofuels, focusing on Sino-US biofuel cooperation capacity building and information exchange.
