Are mass flow meters sensitive to cleaning with process air or steam?

The purge lines in our facility have used Emerson’s Coriolis mass flow meters, with process air and steam at 0.4 MPa being used. Currently, the readings on these flow meters fluctuate wildly, making it impossible to control the process. Could this be related to previous purge operations? Thank you
It should be that, perhaps during the purging process, something remained in the oscillation tube of the mass flow meter, affecting the measurement. A Coriolis mass flow meter must not be done this way; it must be removed during purging.
As a supplementary note, it’s also possible that the installation coefficient of your mass flow meter has exceeded the allowable limit. You can go to its display interface and check the installation coefficient; then refer to the installation instructions to see if it is indeed above the limit. If so, you’ll need to consider installing fixed supports in order to reduce vibrations in the mass flow meter.
When our factory purges pipelines, we never pass them through Coriolis flow meters, as it is said that this could damage them.
