The question I asked last time has now received an answer, but I would like to ask another question today and hope everyone can offer some guidance: In the methanol production process using coke oven gas (designed by the Second Chemical Engineering Institute), it is said that the process condensate from the conversion stage is sent for biochemical treatment. However, in our company, this water ends up in the circulating water reservoir, which has led to a series of problems, including excessive iron content. It is also said that corrosion of some equipment is related to this issue. Currently, the company requires that this water be treated before being released into the reservoir. From what I’ve read, aeration and manganese sand filtration seem to be effective methods, but I’m not entirely sure. Test to determine what pollutants are present in the condensate water and by how much they exceed the limits, as well as which processing stage it should be sent to; this will enable determination of the appropriate treatment methods and the standards to be met. If iron levels are too high, then remove the iron. Different reuse standards require different treatment methods.
The conductivity of the converted condensate is quite high, about several dozen times that of desalinated water; (it has been measured) and it is estimated that the presence of catalyst ash leads to the dissolution of acidic gases such as CO2, so the solution should be acidic. Desalinated water can be produced again through aeration.

It is best to first use an air lift tower to blow off the acidic gases with air, and then send them to the desalination unit; after treatment, they can be used as fresh desalinated water
