At present, Shaanxi Coal is looking for another site, with Weinan being the initial choice. Construction has begun on Shaanxi Xinxing’s 3 million tons per year DMTO project. The 3 million tons per year DMTO industrial demonstration project in Shaanxi Xinxing is being built by Shaanxi Xinxing Coal Olefins Co., Ltd. A full-process DMTO industrial demonstration project with a methanol processing capacity of 600,000 tons in the first phase, requiring an investment of 5 billion yuan, is scheduled to be completed within 3 years. It is reported that this project is one of the few industrial-scale pilot plants in the world for producing low-carbon olefins from methanol on a ten-thousand-ton scale, with its scale and technical parameters ranking among the best in the world. Chia Tai Group Shaanxi Xinxing Coal Olefins Co., Ltd. is a large Sino-foreign joint venture responsible for the construction, operation, and production of the 3 million tons per year coal-based methanol to olefins (DMTO) project in Yulin, Shaanxi. It is currently in the planning stage, with an investment of nearly 6 billion RMB for the first phase and 15 billion RMB for the second phase. The joint venture partners are: CP Group Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd. (**), Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (China), Shaanxi Investment Group Co., Ltd. (China), and Shaanxi Xinxing Coal Chemical Technology Development Co., Ltd. (China).
