I’m a newcomer to the field of automatic control instrument design, and I’m currently working on assigning numbers to these instruments. What are the general principles followed when assigning such numbers?
The instrument tag consists of the instrument function code and the instrument circuit number. The format is as follows: FIC-116 – Instrument tag number; FIC – Function code; 116 – Circuit number. Each factory is divided into several zones, with each zone having its own code. It is advisable to number the instruments in accordance with the sequence of the processes, as this facilitates maintenance and operation. It’s governed by standards; we follow HG/T 2050-2000, and we also establish our own numbering rules. However, these numbers must be approved by the DCS manufacturers, as there are some symbols that those manufacturers are unable to implement!
It should be the bit number specified by the process :)

The labeling principle for instruments is that the function code comes first; if necessary, the process code can also be added in front. Here are specific examples: XX YYYY-ZZZ T XX: Process code; YYYY: Instrument function code; ZZZ: Circuit number (can be assigned concurrently, with the same number used for parameters of the same electrical device); T: Additional symbol, process or equipment series number
