Hello, friends and teachers! I’m facing a problem and would like to ask for your advice: I have several tons of ground white soap in powder form. I want to turn it back into soap blocks, but I’m not sure about the process needed to do this. (I plan to use a simple manual workshop; I won’t buy specialized grinding or shaping machines.) Someone suggested that I dissolve the soap powder in a small amount of water and then add water glass. After trying this method several times, I found that the resulting soap blocks turn yellow due to oxidation when exposed to air, and they also shrink significantly. Perhaps the water content is too high? I’ve read that the water content in soap should not exceed 12%. But if I use less water, the soap powder sticks to the bottom of the container! I’ve now reduced the water content to 50%; using any less results in the powder sticking to the bottom.
