A problem has recently arisen with the Naisch pumps used in our factory: when the pumps are turned off, chlorine gas leaks from the sealing areas at times. However, there is no leakage of acid or gas while the pumps are running. Maintenance staff inspected the pumps and found no issues, which is quite puzzling to me. 1. The Naisch pump belongs to the liquid ring pump category； 2. During normal operation, the center of the Naissl pump should be a negative pressure area to draw in chlorine gas ； 3. When the pump is stopped, the pressure inside it becomes positive, resulting in leakage ； 4. In this case, it is necessary to consider whether the sealing surface of the mechanical seal is flat and whether it seals properly during installation. :lol
Adjust the machine seal; pay attention to the sealing surface.
