Is there a difference between using 20# or 10# fluid pipes?

The vinyl chloride converter is a relatively important device in the chlor-alkali industry. Based on current usage patterns, leakage is a common issue, and this is mainly related to the joints between the tubes and the tube sheet. Through numerous experiments conducted by our company in this area, we have identified the following patterns: 1. Using 10# tubes, whether through welding or expansion jointing, yields better results compared to using 20# tubes; 2. Fitting ends that are joined by expansion are less prone to leakage than those welded, and are easier to maintain ; 3. Strength welding + grooving and expansion fitting; for strength welding, the pipe end must extend at least 5 mm beyond the tube sheet ; 4. The strength weld + strength expansion structure offers relatively reliable performance, but it is more difficult to manufacture.
We use 20# steel for welding. It’s okay; the longest one has been in use for 1.5 years. In addition to welding or expansion jointing as causes of leakage, attention should also be paid to the quality of the gas mixture. This is the experience we have summarized.
