Our company has recently taken on a project related to a crude oil transportation network, which involves piping systems for 64 wells in one area, leading to a central processing station. The design calls for 8 metering stations; the pipes used are primarily φ159×5 foam-lined steel pipes, with φ219×6 foam-lined steel pipes used as a supplement. The pipelines from the wellheads to the metering stations are made of φ89×4 foam-lined steel pipes. Due to insufficient natural gas supply in this area, and in order to reduce costs, the owner wants to eliminate the heating units at the metering stations and replace them with valve assemblies. We can provide the following parameters; please help determine whether eliminating these heating units will affect the transportation of crude oil. The distance from the farthest wellhead to the valve assembly is 1.5 km (using φ89×4 pipes). From there, the pipeline proceeds to a φ159×5 pipe, with a length of 2.5 km, followed by a φ219×6 pipe with a length of 1.2 km, before reaching the central processing station. The medium being transported is a mixture of crude oil and wastewater. The starting temperature does not exceed 65 degrees. In terms of climate conditions, the average temperature during the coldest month is -3.8 degrees, and the maximum depth of frozen soil is 0.57 meters. The physical properties of the crude oil should also be provided, along with information on the volume of liquid, water content, the temperature required for entry into the processing station, local soil conditions, etc. Data on the thickness of the foam layer and its depth of burial are also necessary; the design institute should have the appropriate software for this purpose.
