I would like to ask whether the pH of river water decreases after passing through carbon steel pipes? What is the reason? The pH of the river water here is 8.6, and it drops to 8.5 after passing through the pipes.
It dropped by just 0.1 – a negligible amount that can basically be ignored. The errors in detection and sampling can be greater than this. Last edited by Sea foam on 2007-12-27 11:04.]
It’s the same every time; the difference is 0.1
This is a very normal question. When testing the pH value of the same water, it remains within a certain range
Those upstairs aren’t necessarily always right either; a drop in pH can be caused by bacteria. In circulating water, if digestive bacteria multiply in large numbers, the pH can drop below 5 within a few days! Of course, 0.1 could also very well be an error in detection or sampling
