In China, the construction of large 6.25-meter ramming coke ovens with independent intellectual property rights – featuring the highest carbonization chamber height in the world, the largest volume per carbonization chamber, the most advanced technology, and the highest degree of automation – is about to begin. 　　On June 25, 2007, the general contract for the construction of the 2.2 million tons per year coking plant in the second phase of Tangshan Jiahua Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was officially signed at MCC Coking & Refractory Engineering Co., Ltd. The project includes a large ramming coke oven with 4×46 chambers and a carbonization chamber height of 6.25 meters, along with supporting production facilities, as well as utility and auxiliary facilities, capable of producing 2.2 million tons of coke per year. 　　SMEC Coking & Refractory possesses the capability for EPC general contracting in engineering projects, holds hundreds of patents and proprietary technologies, and has a coking furnace design technology with fully independent intellectual property rights, which has been applied in engineering projects both at home and abroad. The dry quenching technology, dust control technology, and automated control technology associated with coke ovens have also been applied in dozens of projects, achieving good results. Tangshan Jiahua Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was formerly known as Beijing Coking Chemical Plant. In line with Beijing’s requirements to host a green Olympics in 2008 and the overall development plan for the Tangshan Seaport Development Zone, Beijing Coking Chemical Plant was relocated to Tangshan, where Tangshan Jiahua Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. was established. Until then, the ramming coke ovens with a carbonization chamber height of 6.25 meters at the Dillingen center coking plant in the Saar region of southern Germany were the largest in the world.
