The main copper extractants in China are those produced by the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, such as N902; there is also the BK type available in China, though I’m not aware of any others. Abroad, the main types are KELEX, LIX, and M5640 – I’m not sure which ones are the best in terms of both cost-effectiveness and performance
It is recommended to use Henkel’s N984 or N973; of course, this depends on your actual needs

We often use: LIX from German company Henkel abroad, while BK type is commonly used domestically
In terms of extraction efficiency, LIX984 and M5640 perform well; among them, M5640 has a higher selectivity for iron compared to other extractants
It is possible to consider using lix984 and Lix984N M5640 together for co-extraction
The domestic N902 also performs well, but it’s not as good as the M5640 BK series; its manufacturing process is unstable, resulting in variability among different batches of samples. Some of the new samples resemble those that have been in use for a long time – they have a soy sauce-like taste! And some are very clear!
The Lix984 model available abroad performs quite well; the BK series and Lix984 in China have similar performance
I also want to separate copper using extraction, but I haven’t decided on the appropriate extractant yet. I’ve learned a lot from everyone’s comments. Additionally, the choice of solvent is also important. What type of solvent do you usually use for extracting copper? Is a co-extraction agent necessary, and if so, which one would be suitable?
