Distributed control system DCS came out in 1975. The manufacturers are mainly concentrated in the United States, Japan, Germany, etc.* * . At present, DCS is trending towards miniaturization, diversification, PCization and openness. The DCS system is the integration and fusion of several systems, extending in both directions upward and downward at the same time, allowing on-site data from the production process to flow freely within the entire enterprise, realizing a seamless connection between information technology and control technology, and developing towards the integration of measurement, control and management. Due to the development of 3C (Computer, Control, Communication) technology, the process control system will develop from DCS to FCS (Fieldbus Control System). FCS can completely decentralize PID control to field devices. Fieldbus-based FCS is a new generation production process automation system that is fully distributed, fully digital, fully open and interoperable. It will replace the one-to-one 4~20mA analog signal on site. Using fieldbus technology to construct a low-cost fieldbus control system promotes the intelligence of field instruments, the decentralization of control functions, and the openness of control systems. It conforms to the technological development trend of industrial control systems and brings revolutionary changes to the traditional industrial automation control system architecture. Challenges faced by domestic large-scale automation systems Petrochemical industry is an early and common field where DCS is used. Almost all large-scale projects in this field adopt foreign systems. In addition to the hardware and software of DCS itself, it also purchases APC optimization software from large foreign companies to improve production efficiency. Large-scale petrochemical projects built or jointly constructed by multinational groups such as BASF and Shell in the United States all use foreign systems. Among DCS in the petrochemical field, Honeywell, Yokogawa Electric Co., Ltd., and EMERSON are leading the market. DCS is currently facing the challenge of fieldbus control system (FCS) technology. Fieldbus as a technology trend has become unstoppable. At present, each company adopts the transitional method of connecting its own DCS and various fieldbus protocols through interface equipment. Although in a system, interoperability problems between field instruments of different manufacturers of the same fieldbus and DCS, and between different types of fieldbuses, still occur. However, there are close to 100 fieldbus systems that have been put into operation in my country. For example, the FCS system of SECCO's 9 million t/year ethylene cracker is currently the largest fieldbus system at home and abroad. It can be said that it has entered a practical period. In short, the practical use of fieldbus control systems has become a strong opponent of DCS. Secondly, it is worth noting that foreign DCS manufacturers have proposed a new concept: Solution. That is to say, DCS manufacturers no longer regard themselves only as DCS suppliers, but for the control issues of a certain user's device, starting from the formulation of the control plan, including system integration, hardware procurement, software configuration, on-site debugging, start-up and operation, until acceptance, etc., the entire process is contracted by them. Many integrated automation groups have established several industry-specific “solution” companies. This will have a certain impact on domestic DCS users. Because the solution approach can indeed better meet user requirements and reduce user costs. If domestic DCS manufacturers do not adopt corresponding strategies, in the future they will have to be proficient in user technology and usage. * When competing with conventional foreign solution companies, it will be at a clear disadvantage.
