Hello everyone. There are several large storage tanks in the project I’m working on now, and ladders need to be installed for them, but I don’t know how to choose the right ladders Straight staircase, spiral staircase, or inclined staircase? Are there any uniform regulations in this regard? In other words, when should which type of ladder be set up? Also, when setting up an inclined ladder, how do you determine how high the platform needs to be? Thank you first!
Rules are fixed, while design is flexible. Straight ladders are inexpensive, but they are inconvenient for equipment maintenance and for moving up and down. Spiral ladders are more expensive, but they make it easier to go up and down as well as to carry tools onto the tank for work. It’s just my personal opinion!
1. Cylindrical storage tanks are generally equipped with straight ladders or spiral ladders; (square tanks can use inclined ladders.) 2. Spiral ladders can be used for tanks with a volume of over 100 M3. Of course, there is no need to frequently go to the top of the tank for operation, and a larger volume also allows for the use of a straight ladder. 3. If the height of the spiral staircase is >8M, an intermediate platform can be installed. Look for some reference images; many design firms have their own standards or reusable diagrams. Additionally, going to the site to see the ladder platforms in use is very helpful for designing.
