I am currently working on a project that involves researching the support provided by major configuration software for third-party plugins and drivers. My goal is to understand what standards such software applications like iFix, Intouch, KingView, and TianGong use to support third-party plugins. I hope those who have experience in this area can help me out. If I need to develop COM components, what standards should I follow? I used it once before, but not many manufacturers support it. Usually, we ask which manufacturers’ software and operating systems it can communicate with before deciding to purchase it from them. If your organization uses several different types of software, buying products from companies like ABB or CENTUM may not ensure compatibility with all of them, and the cost is also high. So it’s better to call and ask first; moreover, they will only give you a response after testing the programs themselves.

This can be achieved through standard OPC drivers, or by developing one's own OPC driver software.

OPC seems to really be able to solve the problem; take a good look at it
