Heavy oil hydrogenation is essentially residue hydrogenation; it doesn’t differ much from ordinary hydrogenation processes, with the main difference being that the catalysts used are somewhat special.
Thanks. Could that person send over a flowchart? I’m planning to set up a heavy oil hydrogenation facility; I’m not sure if it will be easy to do. We’re currently looking for staff.
It mainly depends on which area your organization wants to focus on. I can recommend a set of techniques to you. It is the H-OIL unit from AXENS North America, designed specifically for the hydrogenation of heavy oil (residue). This set of technologies is already quite mature abroad. Our country currently has a set of such devices, which are actually units within China Shenhua’s coal-to-oil and coal liquefaction plants. Work has already started; so far, 120,000 tons of heavy oil have been processed, and the results are quite good.
I was involved in the process of carrying out the rectifications. Personally, aside from the fact that the catalyst is not domestically produced, its patent fees are not high, and the treatment results are quite satisfactory. The focus is on saving on the cost of catalysts.
