If surfacing is required on the inner surface of the pipe, it must be done in accordance with the requirements of the fluid medium; if those requirements are not stringent, coloring tests on the surfaced layer alone may suffice; Under strict requirements and in the presence of obstacles such as resistance, it is best to specify that the inner surface should be machined; these requirements should be stated in the design and manufacturing drawings, along with specific specifications for surface finish. The flange surface must be finely processed to meet the fitting requirements. However, before machining, it is necessary to specify the thickness of the surfacing layer and define the amount of machining required!

Under normal circumstances, no processing is required; the corrosion resistance of the surfacing layer is better than that of the base metal in its as-welded state. So, from the perspective of corrosion resistance, no processing is required.
