Friends, has anyone installed activated carbon? Are there any good, easy methods for doing it? Could you please share some information? Do you have any experience in using elevators to load activated carbon? I’d like to learn from everyone’s experience in order to make improvements. In our factory, we rely on manual loading, which is very labor-intensive. Is there any good method? Please let me know. Thank you
The original poster is right. Our factory also uses manual loading and unloading. Changing it every three months is really tedious. If anyone has a good solution, please share it with us.
Your activated carbon is mainly used for that purpose; our factory has a system that uses activated carbon for desulfurization. It seems we don’t need to replace it as frequently as you do, haha. But the installation process still requires manual effort

Our facility used activated carbon for secondary desulfurization in the past, but the resistance was too high; now we use soda ash, and the results are good as well.
Loading should be a simple task; at the very least, lifting equipment such as cranes is available. From personal experience, this approach works well: make a large bag in a straight cylindrical shape, secure it at the bottom, transfer the activated carbon into the bag on the ground, then use a crane to lift it to the loading point, and finally open the lower end of the bag. I’m facing similar issues with the project I’m working on right now, and I hope someone with more experience can offer some suggestions. Using a bag with ventilation and dust removal systems seems to be a common approach at the moment, but it’s definitely not the best solution. Firstly, the filling process still relies on manual operation; installing automatic sealing machines and vibrating feeders would mean those devices would remain idle when not in use, which is certainly not economical. Secondly, there’s the issue of dust – a lot of dust is generated during the filling process, and using dust covers also results in those devices staying idle. Thirdly, even after the material is filled in, there are still problems related to compaction, all of which are quite troublesome. I wonder if anyone has any other good solutions that can address various issues such as cost efficiency and environmental protection. I’d appreciate any advice!~
