Why is the heating process of a coking furnace divided into three stages? How are the constant temperatures of 150°C, 320°C, and 500°C determined?
Not only for coke ovens, but this requirement applies to all hydraulic linings as well: 150°C to remove free water, 320°C to remove crystalline water from the surface layer of the lining, and 500°C to remove crystalline water from within the lining across its thickness. A friendly reminder: it is impossible to remove all the moisture from the lining using a baking curve; removal only takes place within a certain thickness of the lining’s surface layer.
