We are working on a project to produce sulfuric acid by using dust removal and purification from smelting flue gases. Generally, power wave purification technology is employed in the desulfurization and purification of non-ferrous metal smelting gases to produce acid; however, although power waves offer high dust removal efficiency, they result in significant pressure drops. We are considering using a spray tower with three layers of nozzles. Although such a tower has lower pressure drops, what is its dust removal efficiency? What is the difference in dust removal and purification efficiency compared to power wave washing? What are the other differences in terms of liquid-to-gas ratio, etc.? Welcome to discuss?
Power wave flue gas purification relies primarily on adiabatic evaporation to reduce the flue gas temperature and on the ability to remove dust from the gases. Although the use of spraying methods can significantly reduce system resistance, it is not sufficient to ensure that the flue gas meets the requirements for acid production; therefore, other cooling equipment must be installed additionally. :lol :victory:
The Venturi tube (internal injection type) – packed cooling tower – electrostatic fog pickling process could also be considered (according to the technicians at Yangzhou Jintao Company, it is slightly more advanced than the power wave method); however, the actual effectiveness of this approach is unknown as there are no detailed technical specifications available. Nevertheless, the power wave method is used for acid production in quantities of over 100,000 tons, indicating that it is a highly mature technology.
My personal opinion: 1. A complete dynamic wave system must include a packing spray tower, whose purpose is to cool down the air and to transfer internal heat outward through the circulating liquid. 2. Before the dynamic waves enter the system, it is usually a combination of a spray tower, a packing tower, and an intercooler, or a Venturi system; however, the efficiency of such systems is not very high. In particular, with just a spray tower, the dust removal efficiency in a single stage is around 70%, which is considered fairly good.
