External heat extraction load

Thread Content

Our plant has two downward-flow external heat extraction systems; originally the load was more or less the same, but now system A’s heat extraction capacity is much higher than that of system B. Generally, A is 80 tons while B is only around 70 tons. However, the temperature distribution in A is very uniform, whereas the temperature in the lower part of B is not good. There is a difference of about 400 degrees between the two temperatures, and the exit temperature of A is also about 30 degrees lower than that of B. The fluidization air pressure is 136 for A and 154 for B; even with steam generation, the situation doesn’t improve. I’m not sure what to do Everyone, please help solve this

This is due to poor circulation of the catalyst in the external heat exchanger. If the regeneration temperature permits, you can open the external heat extraction slide valve to around 45%, and increase the external heat extraction fluidization air flow to approximately 170 Nm3/min; this will cause the catalyst to become fluidized and thus increase the amount of vapor generated~
