The main function of the pump connection valve is (A) A: for line cleaning； B: Used for establishing balance pressure ； C: Is the bypass valve used to maintain a balanced flow rate the same as what is commonly referred to as a bypass valve in operational terms? Is it used to apply pressure when the pump is started and to release pressure when the pump is stopped? Is this question correct?

The pump mentioned in this question refers to a centrifugal pump
It is opened during purging; additionally, it can be used to preheat the pipelines of the heavy oil pump as well. It is generally not used for pressure relief.
May I ask the original poster: To what is the bypass valve you mentioned connected, and what is the flow process of the pipeline in which the bypass valve is located?

Ordinary centrifugal pumps don’t have the connection valve mentioned by LZ!
