How should a reboiler be installed on a steel platform? We simply weld the lugs to the steel beams. The reboiler is designed with expansion rings, but this allows only the lower part of the reboiler to expand and contract freely, while the upper part remains fixed. Previously, we used threaded connections between the lugs and the steel beams; now it’s welded instead. Both methods cause damage to the structure of the steel beams. I’m very confused about how to solve this problem and hope someone experienced can offer some guidance – is there a perfect solution?
