Faced with an overproduction of synthetic ammonia and urea in the country, the domestic agricultural and industrial sectors are unable to absorb it all, so a large portion has to be exported. I would like to learn about high-tech value-added products derived from synthetic ammonia and urea as raw materials.
Apart from agricultural fertilization, ammonia can be used to produce lysine (liquid ammonia, starch), while urea can be used to produce urea-formaldehyde resin (urea, formaldehyde) and petroleum additives (urea, formaldehyde, sodium humate, potassium humate).
Melamine, isocyanuric acid, trichloroisocyanuric acid, sodium dichloroisocyanurate... can also be produced.
I hope the moderator will pin this article – it’s a very serious issue regarding synthetic ammonia and urea at the moment. Many such projects will come online in 2008! !
1. Compound fertilizers: Compound fertilizers using urea as the base include slow-release fertilizers such as urea-formaldehyde and sulfur-coated long-acting coated urea, as well as large-grain urea. A compound fertilizer is created by mixing urea with superphosphate, ammonium phosphate, potassium chloride, herbicides, insecticides, anti-caking additives, as well as various trace nutrients (Zn, Fe, Mn, B, Mg, Mo, Ca, etc.). These types of compound fertilizer plants are small in scale, have low costs and require minimal investment; they are found throughout rural areas in industrially developed regions, where they provide on-site agricultural services and formulate appropriate compound fertilizers based on the results of soil chemistry analyses. 2. Melamine urea reacts with ammonia under high temperature and pressure, and after being converted by a catalyst, it forms melamine resin, which is primarily used in adhesives, coatings, decorative panels, and tanning agents. 3. Non-animal protein feed: The nitrogen in urea, together with carbohydrates, can be converted into nitrogen in protein form through the action of gastric juices. The nitrogen content in one kilogram of urea is equivalent to that in 2.6 to 2.8 kilograms of protein, or to the nitrogen content in 7.0 kilograms of soybean meal. Therefore, urea can be used as feed for ruminants such as cows and sheep; it helps to reduce the amount of concentrated feed required while also promoting the animals’ metabolism. In the United States, 8% to 10% of the total urea production is used as animal feed. Urea can be fed directly, or it can be used as the main component along with other additives, or it can be further processed before feeding. 4. Hydrazine and its derivative products: Hydrazine is a colorless, fuming liquid with the molecular formula N2H4. The process for producing hydrazine from urea is relatively complex, and low-cost methods for its production are continuously being developed and improved. Hydrazine is mainly used in fuels, synthetic resins, blowing agents, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, reagents, and other areas. 5. Urea-formaldehyde resin: A thermosetting amino resin produced by the addition and condensation of urea and formaldehyde. It is mainly used as an adhesive for decorative panels and plywood, a treatment agent for tableware, crops, and paper, as well as a foaming agent for building materials. 6. Melamine: Produced from urea using dry and wet methods, melamine is an important chemical raw material. It serves as a key ingredient in decorative panels, melamine plastics, high-quality coatings, water reducers, and water retention agents, offering broad application prospects. After careful consideration, approval was given for the development of the new product. Support! ! :handshake
Yes, the ammonia synthesis process is already very mature; there is little room for improvement in using it solely to produce urea. The development of new products represents a potential direction for growth. I think our company should consider starting to develop and produce these new products in order to expand
Why is it that advanced technologies are usually imported? aren’t there any new manufacturing processes developed by Chinese people for use in producing downstream products?:victory:
Urea is currently mainly used in the production of melamine, peptide ureas, etc., while ammonia is primarily used to synthesize glycine, hydrazine hydrate, hydrazine bisulfide, and similar compounds. This post was last edited by silinjie on 2008-11-15 13:36]
