The impact of rising methane concentrations on marine ecosystems

To date, significant progress has been made in the extraction technology for methane hydrates. However, progress in environmental assessments is still needed before large-scale actual mining can take place. The risk that is widely recognized at present is the greenhouse effect caused by methane leaks into the atmosphere. However, specifically within the ocean, what impact will it have on marine ecosystems if methane gas leaks into the sea due to geological changes or accidents, leading to an increase in dissolved methane concentrations in local or large areas of the sea? I also consulted relevant materials on this matter, but was unable to reach a clear conclusion. I hope to discuss this with everyone here; please share your views widely. Thank you~!
