Why is it important to ensure that steam does not pass through the tempering device during purging?
Tempering device? You mean the flame arrester, right? Are there any regulations regarding steam purging?
Well, it’s the flame arrester; there’s a regulation regarding that.
This is to protect the flame arrester and extend its service life
After reading it, I still don’t understand whether only the piping system is to be purged, or both the piping system and the furnace chamber. :L
There is no such rule; it might be your own rule
The main concern is that the dirt in the pipes during purging could clog the flame arrester, which is made of multiple layers of copper wire mesh with very small pores; once clogged, the fuel pressure drops significantly.
What was said upstairs is correct; sometimes the flame arrester also needs to be removed for cleaning`
