Whoever has information on a closed-loop system for removing VCM present in PVC, as well as the acid resulting from the washing of VCM, could please share it with me? Thank you in advance! To remove VCM present in PVC using the suspension method, a slurry stripping tower is sufficient; our company uses one of this type, and it works quite well. For the closed-loop system involving acid washing of VCM, there is a acid-water circulation tank from which water is pumped to make the flow go in the reverse direction, from the washing tower to the foam tower, with the circulation tank being used to replenish water
The main goal is to desorb HCl from the waste acid in order to increase the yield of resin.
Removing VCM from PVC resin slurry by suspension method can be achieved using a slurry stripping tower, with fairly good results; Currently, there are mainly two types of such towers: one is the cross-flow tray tower, and the other is the overflow tray tower. Regarding the acid removal by VCM washing, there are currently two available technologies: one is a conventional washing tower + foam tower, and the other is a combined tower.
