What is the difference between a reduction gearbox and a reducer, and in which equipment are they used in the chemical industry?
There are also reducers: lol. They all refer to the same type of thing; it’s just called by various names. A gearbox is not an independent unit – it needs to work in conjunction with the power mechanism in order to function effectively for reducing or increasing speed. Not all reducers have a gearbox. Gearboxes (for increasing speed) for centrifugal compressors; large mixing reducers and gearboxes are used in such applications, while smaller ones more often make use of reducers.
