Firefighting water is generally not used, and we don’t have any insulation here either; as a result, the pipes freeze. How can firefighting water be insulated? Please share your experiences in this regard
Underground fire water pipes certainly do not require insulation. For fire hoses on the ground: when installed indoors, they generally do not require insulation either ; When installed outdoors, the sprinkler system should be a dry system that does not require insulation ; For non-dry pipes, ordinary rock wool insulation is sufficient.
Outdoor water pipes in the north need to be protected from freezing; I’m wondering if anyone can provide the relevant regulations. I’ve also heard that welded galvanized pipes for fire protection water buried underground are not allowed to be used. Could anyone provide the relevant specifications? Maintenance personnel shall insulate all freeze-proof areas to prevent cold damage, and promptly repair or replace any damaged or missing insulation materials. When the temperature is below 0°C, open all anti-freezing valves, ensure they are opened to the appropriate degree, and keep water flowing continuously. During the periods when freezing does not occur, regular inspections should be carried out, and any blocked drain pipes or valves should be addressed promptly. Ensure that all anti-freezing points are in a safe condition, and promptly clear any blockages caused by freezing using steam or steam condensate.
