Everyone, there are various types of water – it seems a bit confusing, with things like softened water, pure water, deionized water, and so on, as well as different grades. Is there anyone familiar with water? Could you introduce them to us?
I’ve found the requirements for classifying the quality of water intended for drinking purposes. I’m not sure if this will be helpful.
**Categories:** Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3
**Sensory properties and general chemical indicators:**
- Color (degree): 15; no other unusual colors allowed. 20, 30
- Turbidity (degree): 3; in special cases, not more than 5. 10, 20
- Visible particles: Not allowed at all. Not allowed at all. Not allowed at all.
- pH: 6.5–8.5, 6–9, 6–9
- Total hardness (in ml/L, as calcium carbonate): 450, 550, 700
- Iron (ml/L): 0.3, 0.5, 1.0
- Manganese (ml/L): 0.1, 0.3, 0.5
- Chlorides (ml/L): 250, 300, 450
- Sulfates (ml/L): 250, 300, 400
- Total dissolved solids (ml/L): 1000, 1500, 2000
**Toxicological indicators:**
- Fluorides (ml/L): 1.0, 1.2, 1.5
- Arsenic (ml/L): 0.05, 0.05, 0.05
- Mercury (ml/L): 0.001, 0.001, 0.001
- Cadmium (ml/L): 0.01, 0.01, 0.01
- Chromium (hexavalent) (ml/L): 0.05, 0.05, 0.05
- Lead (ml/L): 0.05, 0.05, 0.05
- Nitrates (ml/L, as nitrogen): 20, 20, 20
**Bacteriological indicators:**
- Total bacteria count (per ml): 100, 200, 500 (after 30 minutes of contact)
- Residual chlorine (ml/L): Not less than 0.3 for water leaving the treatment plant; not less than 0.3 for water at the point of use. Not less than 0.05 for both.

Ultra-pure water: The residual salt content should generally be below 0.1 mg/L, with a conductivity of less than 0.1 μS/cm at 25°C
