Insoluble in water. . Soluble in hot benzene, slightly soluble in ether and carbon disulfide. Extremely insoluble in ethanol and acetic acid. Sublimation at 407℃.
But, can it be dissolved in ethanol? :(
p-terphenyl: White flaky crystals. The melting point is 213°C, the boiling point is 383°C, 250°C (6kPa), the flash point is 207°C, and the relative density is 1.234 (0°C). Soluble in hot benzene, slightly soluble in ether and carbon disulfide, extremely insoluble in ethanol and acetic acid. Sublimation at 427℃.
I'm doing this right now. Terphenyl and tetraphenyl are easily soluble in dichloromethane and the effect is very good.
I personally think your question is not very professional. What kind of terphenyl is it specifically? Neighbor, between, right? The physical properties of the three are also different!
