Can a level gauge be installed on an oil tank?

There is always water at the bottom of oil tanks used for storing diesel and gasoline. To determine exactly how much water is at the bottom of the tank, could a level gauge be installed there? Additionally, when removing water from the tank, oil tends to be carried along as well; is there any effective solution for this issue? I have some experience in dealing with such matters, so please advise me.
A level gauge should be installed; it would be good to also add a sight glass
It is recommended to use a level gauge with a glass plate
Finished tanks generally do not have level gauges installed due to their large diameter, although there is no rule stating that such gauges cannot be installed. The most cost-effective way to prevent oil from being carried over during tank dehydration is to use an intermediate water separation tank.
