A normal pressure vessel has a temperature of 350 degrees Celsius and the material is 16MnⅡ. Can cast steel be used instead of forged steel?
There is not much problem in using it, but it needs to be approved by the design unit.
Should LZ indicate whether it is a flange or something else? But if it is a normal pressure vessel, cast steel can be chosen.
In theory, it should be possible, but since the design unit designed it this way, you should consider it carefully.
The properties of cast steel and forged steel are very different. Cast steel is highly brittle, while forged steel has strong toughness due to forging. Therefore, as the service temperature of this container is higher than 350 degrees, forgings should be selected.
